Tower Bridge, London, England

An unexpected decision arose, as I reviewed photos taken of this famous bridge. I found that this spectacular structure changed colors according to the time of day and atmosphere. Pink, grey, pale blue and this daunting, sienna. I chose the latter, because it best depicted the season we visited-fall, of 1992, but mostly, the way I felt at the time. We had just left the tour of the Tower and Fortress...
The Crown Jewels is a must-see for your baby-book, where the Star of Africa, the largest cut diamond in the world, sits atop the royal sceptre- displayed along side the other royal treasures. That was beautiful, and the Armoury was interesting. However, the Bloody Tower and the stories the guide told at the Site of the Block, were chilling! I will never forget the erie feeling-climbing the shoulder-width, spiraling, stone staircase to the top. In the lower chamber of the tower, is where Sir Walter Raleigh was emprisoned (a room much more do-able) and where he wrote a History of the World, for the instruction of Henry Prince of Wales. The ceremonial changing of the guard takes place on the Tower Green. I loved all the red suits and big black fuzzy hats moving in unison-demanding your attention! It's like, your Christmas decorations have come alive!
